New report highlights US tech-lovers' thoughts on virtual reality

A report into how tech-loving Americans feel about virtual reality (VR) has shown over 60% have no plans to buy hardware over the next year or two.

The survey, carried out by app and software download platform Softonic, included results from primarily students or full-time workers aged from 15 - 24 years of age.

Oculus hires Fitbit chief operating officer

In the midst of backlash against Oculus’ product delays, the company has announced that it’s hired Hans Hartmann, formerly of Fitbit as its new chief operating officer (COO).

He’ll replace current COO Laird Malamed, who will take on a new executive role to help Oculus scale.

GAME acquires augmented reality firm Ads Reality

Condé Nast to premiere first virtual reality series in September

Oculus Rift demo coming to Best Buy stores

Oculus has announced its Rift headsets will be available to try out at Best Buy stores in the US from next week (7 May).

The company added it has plans to roll this out to Europe and Canada, but not until the autumn.
