Samsung teams up with BuzzFeed
Samsung electronics has announced a partnership with BuzzFeed and NowThis, aimed at creating ‘new and immersive’ content experiences.
The content produced through the partnership will put 360 video at reader’s fingertips, ranging from simple how-to’s to breaking news from around the world.
According to a press release provided by Samsung, both BuzzFeed and NowThis will create different kinds of content. NowThis will focus on immersive experiences such as 360 cityscapes and provide exclusive access to international sites and ancient traditions.
BuzzFeed, on the other hand, will focus on world news and ‘everyday experiences that are true to BuzzFeed’s style’.
“These partnerships are a testament to our dedication to reimagining the way moments are captured and shared, and making these immersive experiences accessible to more consumers,”Younghee Lee, CMO and executive vice president at Samsung Electronics, said.
“Samsung’s 360-degree technology will enable BuzzFeed to use our ‘test and learn’ strategy to unlock new kinds of shareable content, while learning more about how audiences are consuming and using it,” said Matthew Henick, Head of Development, BuzzFeed.
The announcement follows the unveiling of the latest Samsung Gear 360, which is a 4K capable 360 camera.
